Olana State Historic Site is owned and operated by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) as part of the Taconic Region. OPRHP co-operates with the not-for-profit The Olana Partnership (TOP) in a public/private partnership to operate and fund the site and its programs.

The mission of OPRHP is to provide safe and enjoyable recreational and interpretive opportunities for all residents and visitors and to be responsible stewards of the state's valuable natural, historic, visual and cultural resources.
