The Landscape
Open 8am to sunset daily, year round. On weekends and holiday Mondays April – October, from 10am to 4pm, there is a vehicle use fee of $5 per car. All other times admission to the grounds is free. There is no charge for grounds access to members of The Olana Partnership or holders of the Empire Passport.
Wagon House Educational Center
A variety of programs suitable for all ages, are offered at the Wagon House in the historic farm complex. Please click here for further information.
Visitor Center and Museum Store
Admission to the Visitor Center and Museum Store is included with grounds access. The Visitor Center offers a film and an illustrated panel display about the life of Frederic Church and the history of Olana. Computer terminals provide access to the second floor of the main house and the exhibitions in the Sharp Gallery. The Museum Store stocks a wide range of goods inspired by Frederic Church's art and the exotic furnishings of his home. The Visitor Center and Museum Store are open when house tours are offered (see below for hours).
Tours
Admission to house by guided tours only. No backpacks or strollers please. For reservations or for more tour information please call (518) 828-0135.
The first floor of the house will be decorated for the holidays Friday, November 25th through Saturday, December 31st. The house will be open for tours on Friday and Saturday Christmas (December 23rd and 24th) and New Years weekends (December 30th and 31st) and closed on Sunday, December 25th and Sunday, December 1st.
Main Floor and Studio
November 1, 2011-March 31, 2012:
Friday – Sunday, 11am-3pm, last tour starts promptly at 3pm.

The paintings and collections in the richly decorated, Eastern-inspired home illustrate the story of Olana's creation and its importance to Church and his family as a place of refuge and inspiration. Second Floor and Sharp Family Gallery

This tour begins with a look at portions of the servants' quarters outfitted with interpretive panels that describe the bustle of activity required to maintain the Church family's lifestyle. On the second floor, visitors enter the spacious Stair Hall Landing and from there can view Frederic and Isabel Church's bedroom suite. Finally, the Evelyn and Maurice Sharp Gallery hosts changing exhibitions on Church's art and life. The exhibitions section lists current and past exhibitions.
Combined Main Floor, Studio, Second Floor and Sharp Gallery

Important Tour Information
Tours are filled on a first-come, first served basis and fill quickly, especially on weekends. Reservations are encouraged, especially April – October, although not required. Click on the reservations page for our policies. Reservations are taken during the hours tours of the house are offered (see above). Call 518-828-0135.
Timely arrival for all tours is required. Because of ticket demand, reserved tickets will be held until 30 minutes before the tour – if they are not claimed by that time, tickets will be made available to visitors on site and waiting.
